Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith

Owner of Leland's Lures

Jeff Smith is the owner of Leland’s Lures and Sore Lip’em All Guide Service. Jeff started with one lure, the Trout Magnet. Now Leland’s Lures carries many products for trout and crappie enthusiasts. Leland’s Lures products are sold all across the country and regionally through Wal-Mart, Bass Pro, Dick’s Sporting Goods and many other retail stores. The Trout Magnet was named by Field and Stream Magazine as one of the top 30 lures of all time. Jeff has been featured in numerous TV shows and magazine articles. As the Trout Magnet was blessed with growth and popularity, requests were received from all over the world to fish the Trout Magnet on its home waters (the Little Red River). As a result, the Sore Lip’Em All Guide Service was created to provide guided trout fishing trips using the Trout Magnet. Even though Jeff now spends most of his time in the office or promoting the Leland’s Lures products, you will still find him on the water providing Sore Lip’Em All clients a trip to remember.
David Taylor

David Taylor

Guide

David grew up fishing the Caney Fork River in his home state of Tennessee, but while attending college here in Arkansas and with the help of great mentors, his passion for fishing grew…specifically trout fishing on the Little Red River with Trout Magnets. Upon graduating from Harding University in 2017 he took a job teaching Algebra in Cabot, but continued guiding for us and fishing hard during the summers and weekends. After five years in the classroom and the encouragement of his wife, Haley, he decided to go full-time on the river. David’s love of teaching continues through his time on the water with others. He has proven to be an exceptional angler and is passionate about teaching others conservation minded spin fishing tactics. With the combination of Trout Magnets and D2 Jigs in his arsenal, he can do everything from jig fishing high water on the Little Red River to twitching Trout Magnets in minimum flow on the White River.  With countless hours spent on the White, Norfork, and Little Red Rivers, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands in David’s boat.
